The emotional lives of artists laid bare…
THE AGONY THE AGONY THE AGONY
THE AGONY THE AGONY THE AGONY
WHO AND WHAT ARE WE?
The Agony is a BRAND NEW podcast dedicated to the emotional well-being of visual artists. Created by international artist and curator Zina Saro-Wiwa and co-presented by performance artist and painter Ayana Evans, this show will be fearless in its dedication to telling the truth about what it means to live and work as an artist in the 21st century.
We will tackle issues such as money, envy, tiredness, loneliness, politics and culture wars, artist residencies, travel, gallery representation, existential instability, friendship groups, family expectations, sex, money and anything else that comes up that rarely gets talked about openly and where it is often hard to find healing, good advice or even the simple honest truth.
The co-presenters and guests will be open and truthful about their experiences and they will invite other speakers to join. We will avoid mentioning names where possible but openness and transparency is our aim. In addition there will be testimonials from the artist community, special interviews and an on-air therapist or practitioner to offer support and advice as to how to deal with issues that have been raised in the show.
Please feel free to write in, contribute to the podcast and if you have ideas for a subject you would like us to tackle, please drop us a note using the form below. You can also find us on instagram @theagonypodcast.
